From 23th to 26th August 15 phrases extracted from Jose Saramago's novel "The Stone Raft" were written in white chalk at Benfica neighbourhood streets.
For Saramago, the ancestral act of drawing a line on the ground can have the Pirineus cracking as a consequence.
The white lines on black asphalt of this urban action aimed to create exception areas in the city, as if the extended reading time could balance this ephemeral, delicate and defying words.

During the research process Benfica's neighbourhood main spots were identified: squares and parks, historical buildings, comercial centers, librarys.
The district was divided in 4 sectors, according to the structural streets and concentration of points of interest. Each part correspond to one of the 4 actions days.
